History:

Quetta Gladiators represents the province Balochistan and has been bought by Omar Associates for $11 million (USD). Omar Associates were able to get 10-year rights to the franchise for less money as compared to the other four franchises.

In the first Season Quetta Gladiators played brilliantly lost only 2 games in the group stages and lost in the final.

Changes to Previous Season:

Quetta Gladiators have appointed Former Pakistan wicket-keeper Moin Khan as the head Coach while Abdul Razzaq as Bowling Coach and Julien Fountain as the Fielding Coach.

Quetta Gladiators have released Sri Lankan batsman Kumar Sangakkara who joined Karachi Kings and Picks up Umar Amin from Islamabad United and Mir Hamza from Karachi Kings.

Rilee Rossouw, Tymal Mills and Bangladesh’s Mahmudullah Riyad had made it into the squad. Mohammad Nabi has opted out from the tournament which gives New Zealand’s All-Rounder Nathan McCullum a chance. David Willey not available due to injury during the series against India which allows Sri Lankan All-Rounder Thisara Perera gets a chance in the squad. Luke Wright and Kevin Pietersen are retained.

Sarfaz Ahmad the Captain and others include Ahmed Shehzad, Anwar Ali, Umar Gul, Zulfiqar Babar and Asad Shafiq are Pakistan’s internationals who have been included in the side. Ahmad Shehzad, Anwar Ali and Umar Gul are likely to be very important players for the franchise. Mohammad Nawaz and Saad Nasim are the emerging players from Pakistan to look for, having recently played for Pakistan in internationals as well.
