Jhye Richardson
Jhye Richardson is a bowler who gets the ball through at good pace. The former Australian Under-19 fast bowler, Richardson made his list-A debut with WA during the 2015 Matador BBQs One-Day Cup. The highly-rated Richardson was part of Australia’s Under-19 side which toured England in 2015. He has been a prolific wicket-taker at under-age level for WA and was named vice captain of the 2015-16 under-19 squad. He had a breakout BBL|06 and was named to debut for Australia against Sri Lanka in T20 cricket. In January 2019, Richardson was named in the squad for the ODI series against India. He played the opening game of the series at the SCG and returned with his career best statistics of 4/26, including the wicket of world cricket superstar and India captain Virat Kohli. The win in Sydney marked the 1000th international win for Australia across all formats. It was a big month for Richardson, as later that same month he was added to the Australia Test squad for the series against Sri Lanka.
Richardson was player of the match in the BBL|06 final, helping the Perth Scorchers to their third BBL title, claiming 3 for 30.
